Chesters by the River, Lake District, amazing vegetarian cakes, pastries, snacks, full meals and coffee.
We found Chester’s in 2022 when we were walking down the Langdale Valley from New Dungeon Ghyll to Ambleside. It is located in Skelwith Bridge and was the perfect place to get a coffee. Since then we have called many times to pick up food for our walk or have a coffee and snack after a hard days walk.
Another option is park at Elterwater and amble along the river to Skelworth Bridge where you will find Chester's.
Chesters is modern cafe with a riverside deck serving all home made vegetarian food. The food is absolutely great and the vibe is similarly good.
I highly recommend a visit to this cafe whether you are walking or just driving past.
